The Thrift Shop is open every Thursday from 10am to 5pm. Call ahead Call to ensure the shop is open as it occasionally needs to be closed (204-281-2080\/ 204-236-4471).<\/h5>\n

Located in Birch River, MB volunteers spread Christ\u2019s Love through contacts and friendships gained via visitors and customers. Bibles, DVDs, and Daily Bread Devotionals are handed out and it is our hope and prayer that people will be encouraged and blessed. The Thrift Shop also provides affordable clothing, housewares, and goods to shoppers and is located well to serve that end.<\/p>\n

As a bonus the Thrift Shop consistently raises funds to\u00a0support camp. While this is an important contribution it doesn\u2019t overshadow the greater importance of spreading God\u2019s Kingdom through its operation. We are blessed to have been able to keep it going for many years!<\/p>\n

2022 Thrift Shop Report<\/p>\n

Many people are still so happy to receive Daily Bread devotional booklets. I\u2019ve heard that some Daily Breads have been distributed farther away than the Valley.<\/p>\n

I feel that the community embraces our little Shop. Sometimes it feels like a bit of a gathering place and it is fun to look out the window and see a lot of vehicles in the parking lot.<\/p>\n

There are some really fun times as well. Once, Diane and I heard a buzzing sound and we noticed a gentleman was trying out a shaver that had been donated. After he had shaved, he bought the shaver. I\u2019m not sure if we kept a straight face! The same day that same fellow wanted us to listen to a song he had written. Diane told him she just couldn\u2019t understand the words and he said \u201cWell that\u2019s because it\u2019s in Cree.\u201d Then we all really had a good laugh.<\/p>\n

Just recently I lost my Mom, and Dad asked me if I could take some of her clothing back with me to the Thrift Shop. When I noticed a dear lady who I know from Sapotaweyak carrying Mom\u2019s winter boots up to the counter, I had a strong feeling that I wanted to give them to her. I told her that they had belonged to my Mom and she had just passed away and I\u2019d like to give them to her. We both cried and hugged each other and she thanked me sincerely.<\/p>\n

Even though we have had this building now for 6\u00a0years now, it still feels like it is new and it is appreciated so very much. Many thanks to all the supporters who made it possible.<\/p>\n
